Police Blotter For April 25-26

A review of reported crimes out of the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies.

Here's the Palm Desert police blotter for April 25-26:

Tuesday, April 26

8:58 p.m.: Officers responded to a possible robbery that just occurred at the Starbucks, located at 42-175 Washington St., in Palm Desert. One juvenile entered the Starbucks and asked for a glass of water. While waiting for the glass of water, he reached into the tip jar and grabbed a handful of money. An employee saw this occurring and confronted the juvenile by the side door. The employee then grabbed the money from the youth’s hand without a struggle. The juvenile tossed the rest of the money onto the ground and ran north through the parking lot. A patron at Starbucks, saw this occurring and went after the juvenile suspect. The patron caught up to the suspect at 42nd Avenue and Yucca Lane and a struggle ensued prior to the juvenile being detained until deputies arrived.

Monday, April 25

1:30 a.m.: Officers responded to the 77000 block of Indiana reference a domestic disturbance and arrested Alfred Borunda, 48, of Palm Desert for a welfare fraud warrant.

1 p.m.: Officers responded to the 42600 block of Connecticut regarding a domestic dispute, and arrested Steven Nelson, 43, for spousal battery.

4:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a theft of electricity within the 43700 block of Kelsey Court, and arrested Kyle Walter Patton, 28, of Palm Desert for parole violation and possession of a double edge knife.

9:19 p.m.: Officers responded to 42095 Washington Ave., Albertsons grocery store, reference five males fighting. Officers found a Bail Recovery Agent, armed with a baton, detained one suspect while holding two other suspects at bay. The investigation showed that Stuart Armor, 49, of Palm Desert tried to purchase alcoholic beverages from Albertsons, but the casher refused to sell the alcohol to him due to his level of intoxication. Armor became argumentative and verbally abusive with the cashier, so the store manager refused service and began escorting Armor out of the store. Armor stopped and threw a punch at the manager, but missed. A Bail Recovery Agent out of Palm Desert, stepped between Armor and the store manager, so Armor threw a punch at him. The Bail Recovery Agent struck Armor several times with the RCB as Joe Glass, age 55 of Palm Desert, and Jordan Burrack, age 25 of Palm Desert, who accompanied Armor, pushed and hit Hill in an attempt to free Armor from Hill’s detention/citizen’s arrest. Officers arrested Armor, Glass, and Burrack for battery.
