Police Blotter For Feb. 7-9

A review of reported crimes out of the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies. Several felony warrant arrests top the list.

Here's the blotter from the Palm Desert Police Department for Feb. 7-9:

Wednesday, Feb. 9

2:47 a.m.: Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on Monterey Avenue at San Gorgonio Way, and arrested Christopher Olsen, 38, of Thousand Palms for a felony drug warrant.

7:15 a.m.: Officers arrested Rita Thompson, 62, of Palm Desert for a domestic violence and elder abuse warrant in the 41900 block of Harrison Drive.

2 p.m.: Officers arrested Stuart Smith, 42, of Palm Desert for possession of methamphetamine in the 73200 block of Tumbleweed Lane.

6:31 p.m.: Officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to the at 36957 Cook St. reference an armed robbery. Investigation revealed that a Hispanic male adult, in his early 20’s, approximately six feet tall and heavy set, wearing gray pants and a black hooded sweatshirt entered the business and robbed employees at gun point. The subject took an undetermined amount of currency and fled the scene. No one was injured during the robbery.

Tuesday, Feb. 8

6:30 p.m.: Officers arrested Demetrius Ramos, 22, of Palm Desert for two counts of burglary and a probation violation at 43085 Illinois Ave.

Monday, Feb. 7

8:30 a.m.: Officers responded to a residence on Raven Road regarding felony vandalism. The victim had her tires slashed and paint scratched on her vehicle twice in the last two weeks. Justin Froemming, 24, of Palm Desert was arrested felony vandalism.

7:11 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of suspicious person at the gas station at 74478 Highway 111. Angel Lopez, 19, of Indio, was arrested for possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property.
