Police Blotter For July 14-17

Sunday, July 17

1:06 a.m.: Officers arrested Janessa Marie Myers, 27, for driving under the influence at in the 43000 block of Stony Hill Street.

2:12 a.m.: Officers responded to the intersection of Highway 111 and Portola Avenue in reference to an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles. The investigation revealed that Maria Munoz, 19, of La Quinta was traveling westbound on Highway 111 when she rear-ended into another vehicle. Driving while intoxicated charges will be filed with the district attorney’s office due to injuries caused during the collision. 

Saturday, July 16

5:34 a.m.: Officers arrested Juan M. Padilla, 21, from Palm Desert, for vandalism, at the 43000 block of Washington Street.

Friday, July 15, 2011

1:14 a.m.:  Officers responded to a carjacking occurring in the 44000 block of Santa Margarita in the city of Palm Desert. Suspect pointed a handgun at the victim during the theft of the victim's vehicle. Deputies from the Palm Desert and Indio Station searched Fred Waring Drive and Highway 111 with no results. 

8:13 p.m.: Officers arrested Steven Howard Kaylor, 42, of Palm Desert for brandishing a weapon in a threatening manner, at the 77000 block of Missouri Street.

9:45 a.m.: Officers arrested Zachary Griffin, 21, of Palm Desert for inflicting willful harm upon a child, at the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue.

Thursday, July 14

12:01 a.m.: Officers conducted a pedestrian check at Country Club Drive and Harris Lane and arrested Scott Munson, 47, of Palm Desert for an outstanding felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. 

3:20 p.m.: Officers arrested Roderick Duff, 34, of Palm Desert for domestic violence and criminal threats in the 35000 block of Domani Drive. 

8:45 p.m.: Officers arrested Todd Watts, 34, of Palm Desert for
public intoxication, search incident to arrest revealed a small amount of methamphetamine.
