A review of reported crimes by the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies.

Wednesday, July 13

12:47 a.m: Officers arrested Alvaro Briseno, 32, of La Quinta for driving under the influence of a controlled substance in the 74000 block of Aster Drive.

1:11a.m.: Officers arrested Raymond Elias, 21, of Indio for driving under the influence and hit and run at Fred Waring Drive and Cook Street.

3:01 a.m.: Officers arrested Michael J. Talbot, 28, of La Quinta for public intoxication and Michael J. Head, 29, of Palm Desert for driving under the influence, at Shadow Mountain and Portola Avenue.

1:52 a.m.: Officers responded to Portola Avenue and Fairway Drive reference a man down on the side of the road, and arrested Arthur Burnett, 18, of Bermuda Dunes for public intoxication. 

1:12 p.m.: Officers arrested Glen Orrantia, 52, of Palm Desert for spousal abuse at the 74000 block of Leslie Street. 

4:46 p.m.: Officers arrested Joshua Sarvis, 35, for possession of methamphetamine at the 43000 block of Virginia Avenue. 

10:42 p.m: Officers arrested Gary F. Brantley, for driving under the influence at Fred Waring Drive and Cook Street.

Monday, July 11

No significant incidents reported.  

Sunday, July 10

3:52 a.m: Officers responded to , 44830 Monterey Ave., reference an intoxicated person inside the store, and arrested Sean Ross, 25, of Rancho Mirage for public intoxication. 

9:00 a.m: Officers conducted an arrest warrant service at the 73300 block of Candlewood Street. and arrested Keith Jaggers, 38, for a felony drug warrant. 

4:00 p.m: Officers arrested Rogelio Maciel, 24, for a resisting, obstructing, and delaying misdemeanor warrant at the intersection of San Nicholas and Las Palmas. 

5:11 p.m: Officers arrested Maria Socorro, age 42 of Yucca Valley and Kimberly Olivares, 21, of Desert Hot Springs for commercial burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary at the store, located in the . 

7:10 p.m: Officers arrested Carlos Valencia, 32, from Cathedral City of commercial burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for providing false identification to a police officer, at , located in the Westfield Shoppingtown.

9:40 p.m.: Officers arrested transient, Eric Knutson, 61, for a felony possession of methamphetamine warrant at the intersection of Larkspur Avenue and Highway 111.  

Saturday, July 9

9:50 p.m: Officers responded to the 73300 block of Fred Waring Drive in reference to an unknown trouble call. On arrival, Manuel Alfaro, 47, of Palm Desert became verbally argumentative with officers. Alfaro was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest. 

Friday, July 8

12:10 a.m.: Officers conducted surveillance at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center regarding late night swimmers (trespassers). During the surveillance a group of subjects entered the pool area. 907 SET Officer’s contacted seven subjects. All seven subjects were admonished and signed trespass letters.

12:38 a.m.: Officers arrested Luis Miguel Ramirez, 29, of Indio for grand theft at the 72000 block of Highway 111.  

7:52 p.m.: Officers arrested Danelle Marie Deleon, 21, of Palm Desert for commercial burglary at the 33000 block of Highway 111.

9:56 p.m.: Officers arrested Michael Sheldon Lay, 39, of Palm Desert for an outstanding indecent exposure warrant, within the 73000 block of Santa Rosa Way.

Thursday, July 7

9:00 a.m.: Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team and the California Parole Apprehension Team responded to the 73000 block of Catalina Way. At the location they arrested Fabian Gutierrez, 35, of Palm Desert for a felony Parolee-at-Large warrant. 

12:15 p.m.: Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team and the Business District Team served a search warrant in the 32000 block of Rancho Vista in Cathedral City. The search warrant stemmed from a burglary occurring at in Palm Desert. Arrested at the location was Samantha Vasquez, 24, of Cathedral City for burglary. Also
arrested was Eduardo Vasquez, 25, from Cathedral City, for a domestic violence warrant.

2:15 pm.: Officers arrested Reyes Paul Deleon Jr., 48, of Washington was arrested for public intoxication, at the

Wednesday, July 6

9:30 a.m.: Officers handled a criminal threats call at the 42000 block of Melanie Place. Michael John Reinholtz, 55, from La Quinta, called the business and threatened to burn the business down and harm the victim. Officers attempted to locate Reinholtz in La Quinta but he was not home.  

11:30 a.m.: Officers responded to an attempt robbery at the of Country Club. The unknown suspect approached a clerk and gave the clerk a note demanding the money from the register. The note advised the suspect was armed with a gun. The clerk advised the suspect he was not logged onto the register, so he could not open it.

2:00 p.m.: Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team responded to the located at Washington St. and Hovley Lane regarding several subjects smoking drugs inside a vehicle. Arrested were Andrea M. Elser, 27, from Apple Valley, Mitchell Thomson, 25, from Yucaipa and Dominic Thomas, 24, from Yucaipa. The suspects were arrested for being in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, following a
traffic enforcement stop at Washington St. and I-10. 

3:00 p.m.: Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team identified the male juvenile suspect in the burglary at . The juvenile was interviewed in reference to the incident. He admitted to burglarizing the location. Due to the fact the juvenile is in custody for an unrelate crime, charges will be filed out of custody with Juvenile Probation.  

Tuesday, July 5

2:06 a.m: Officers arrested Neil Smith, 46, from Palm Desert, for public intoxication at the 72000 block of Fred Waring Drive.   

6:03 p.m: Officers conducted a parole search in the 43000 block of Tennessee Ave. During the search, the K9 alerted to heroin. David Brennan, 52, was arrested for possession of heroin and for violating the terms of his parole.
