Police blotter for June 27 to July 4

Monday, July 4

1:20 a.m.: Officers responded to the Enclave Apartments on Gateway, Palm Desert and arrested Hassan Nabeen, 30,from Palm Desert for public intoxication.

3:15 a.m: Officers conducted an occupied vehicle check at Freedom Park, 77400 Country Club, and arrested Debra Grotzky-Sawter, 40, from Palm Desert for possession of methamphetamine. 

Sunday, July 3

12:30 a.m: Officers working extra duty at , arrested Juan Alvarez, 37 of South Gate for public intoxication.

1:45 a.m.: Officers responded to the 74500 block of Avenue 42 reference a juvenile brandishing a knife at her stepfather. The juvenile was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, because the stepfather was cut during a struggle for control of the knife.

5:30 a.m.: Officers were flagged down at One Quail Place apartments, 72600 Fred Waring, reference a follow-up to a stolen vehicle. The victim reported her vehicle was returned and her son, who stole the car, was also home. The fifteen-year-old suspect was arrested and booked in Juvenile Hall for vehicle theft.

11:55 p.m.: Officers responded to the Regent Apartments, 73373 Country Club, reference a domestic disturbance, and arrested Vincent Martinez, 42, from Palm Desert, for domestic battery and death threats.

Saturday, July 2

1:00 a.m: Officers arrested Lawrence Orth, 37, from Palm Desert, for driving under the influence at De Anza and San Juan.

6:11 p.m: Officers conducted an occupied vehicle check at the Mobil Gas Station on Cook St. and Gerald Ford. Armando Martinez, 42, from Indio, and Daniel Hernandez, 44, from Indio, were both arrested for having outstanding felony warrants. 

Friday, July 1

12:55 a.m.: Officers arrested Saliba Antwan Deeb, 18, from Palm Desert, for driving under the influence and misdemeanor hit and run at E. Hovley Street and Oasis Club. Deeb was transported to the hospital for treatment of the injuries he sustained as a result of the collision.

1:52 a.m.: Officers arrested Nora Fisher, 30, from Palm Desert, for driving under the influence at the 74000 block of Aster Dr.

10:30 a.m.: Officers arrested Alfred Perez, 49, from Coachella, for an armed robbery that occurred at the 72000 block of Hwy 111. With the assistance of a witness, Perez was located in the area of Portola and Santa Rosa and was taken into custody.

3:52 p.m.: Officers from the Palm Desert Police Department arrested Brandon C. King Christian, 20, Zaque Xavier Sykes, 27, Joshua M. Madison, 18, and a 16-year-old male juvenile, all of the Los Angeles area for armed robbery. The robbery occurred at Leeds & Son on of El Paseo. The suspects stole jewelry from the store and fled the scene. Officers went in pursuit of the suspects. The pursuit ended in the city of Moreno Valley where the suspects were taken into custody and the stolen jewelry was recovered.

8:15 p.m.: Officers arrested Bradley Alan Dekruyf, 30, from Lakewood, for public intoxication at the 74000 block of Country Club Dr.

8:20 p.m.: Officers arrested Darren Moody, 26, from Huntington Beach, for public intoxication at the 74000 block of Country Club.

Thursday, June 30

4:12 p.m.: Officers arrested Todd Campbell, 21, from Palm Desert, for possessing heroin at Washington Street and Whirling Wind.

5:13 p.m.: Officers arrested Javier Avalos, 31, from Palm Desert, for a felony warrant at the 77000 block of Mountain View Ave.

6:00 p.m.: Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team arrested Cheryl Lutzke, 50, from Cathedral City, for two felony warrants at the 68000 block of Concepcion Rd.

9:20 p.m.: Officers arrested Paul Lambertson, 66, from Palm Desert, for public intoxication at San Pablo and Hwy 111.

Wednesday, June 29

8:02 p.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop on the corner of Deep Canyon and Fred Waring Dr. and arrested Luis Guillermo Araiza, 29, from Indio, for possessing metal knuckles.

Tuesday, June 28

2:24 a.m.: Officers arrested Raquel Zarate, 31, from Palm Desert, for possession of methamphetamine near Portola and El Cortez.

Monday, June 27

7:22 p.m.: Officers arrested Amelia Arana, 31, from Desert Hot Springs, for shoplifting and drug paraphernalia at 72-900 Highway 111.

7:30 p.m.: Officers responded to the parking lot of the Albertson Shopping Center located at Hwy 111 and Cook regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision. The investigation revealed two female juveniles were struck by a moving vehicle after pulling out in front of the vehicle. Both juveniles were transported to the for their injuries. Parents of the juveniles were notified.
