POLICE BLOTTER: Two DUIs, One Car

A review of reported crimes from August 15 to 21 from the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff’s deputies

Tuesday, August 21

2:30 a.m.:   Officers located a disabled vehicle on Highway 74 and Mesa View and contacted the driver. Dallan Castillo, 28, from Indio, was arrested on two felony warrants for burglary and sales of methamphetamine.

9:26 a.m.:  Officers responded to Von's at 72675 Highway 111 reference a theft. Brian Paul Beechie, a 42-year old transient, was arrested for commercial burglary after stealing a bottle of vodka.

10:06 p.m.:  Officers responded to the 73300 block of Juniper Street on a domestic disturbance call. Donald Fairfax, 77, from Palm Desert, was arrested for domestic battery.

10:26 p.m.:   Officers responded to the Westfield Shopping Center parking lot reference subjects drinking and driving around the mall. Security and surveillance cameras verified two separate drivers in the same car. Ryan Martinez, 18, from Cathedral City and Roberto Mejia, 19, from  Desert Hot Springs, were both arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Monday, August 20

2:00 p.m.:   Officers responded to the 73300 block of Country Club Drive reference a domestic disturbance. Alejandro Camacho, 25, from Palm Desert, was arrested for domestic battery.

8:50 p.m.:  Officers responded to a hit and run traffic collision at San Pablo Avenue and Highway 111. Witnesses were unable to identify the suspected hit and run driver. Ceaser Rojas, 52, from Palm Desert, was arrested on a DUI and a suspended license warrant.

Sunday, August 19

2:30 a.m.  Officers were dispatched to the Desert Springs Marriott reference a disturbance. Hector Dugo, 33, from Alberta Canada, was arrested for public intoxication.

Saturday, August 18

No significant incidents reported.

Friday, August 17

9:35 a.m.:   Officers responded to Quicksilver Street and Bodie Road on a suspicious person call. Jeremy Kashkari, 28, from Palm Desert, was arrested for possession of stolen property and a parole violation.

Thursday, August 16

5:30 p.m.:   Officers responded to regarding a theft. Darion Dauphine, 20, from La Quinta, was arrested for shoplifting a wallet from the business.

Wednesday, August 15

12:02 a.m.:   Officers conducted a traffic stop at Fred Waring Drive and Cook Street. Harrison Urtiaga, 27, from Palm Desert, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of unauthorized prescription medication and a violation of probation.

8:45 a.m.: Officers responded to the 38000 block of Desert Greens Drive. Douglas McEwan, 55, from Palm Desert, was arrested for a felony warrant.

8:59 p.m.:  Officers from the 907 SET conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Idaho Street and Michigan Drive. Jason Bieser, 32, from Palm Desert, was arrested for possession of metal knuckle.

9:46 p.m.: Officers responded to Starbucks at 74600 Hwy 111 regarding an intoxicated subject. Kate Burke, 33, from Palm Desert, was arrested for public intoxication.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
