POLICE BLOTTER: Walmart Shoplifters, A Stabbing That Wasn't

A review of reported crimes from September 12 to 18 from the Palm Desert Police Department, which is staffed by sheriff's deputies

4:15 a.m.:   Officers responded to the 44000 block of Las Flores reference a domestic disturbance. Sky Vreeken, 35, from Palm Desert, was arrested for domestic violence.

1:15 p.m.:   Officers responded to Macy's regarding a shoplifting. Elizabeth Bolden 43, from Indio, was arrested for shoplifting and public intoxication

7:14 p.m.:  Officers responded to an in-progress vehicle burglary in the Golds Gym parking lot. The reporting party was chasing the suspect toward a gated community. The suspect of the burglary was located in the backyard of a residence. John Singleterry, 25, from Indio, was arrested for burglary and resisting arrest. 

Sunday, September 16 

1:43 a.m.:   Officers responded to a single-car traffic collision at Monterey Avenue and Arboleda Drive. Kristian Reyes, 23, from Desert Hot Springs, was arrested for driving while under the influence.

6:30 p.m.:   Officers conducted a pedestrian check at Highway 111 and Lupine Lane. William Jefferis, 43, from Palm Desert, was arrested for a parole violation warrant.

12:45 a.m.:   Officers responded to a domestic disturbance within the 42-000 block of Desert Eagle. Jose Barajas, 35, from Palm Desert, was arrested for misdemeanor spousal abuse. 

Saturday, September 15

12:10 a.m.:   Officers responded to Walmart reference a theft. Matthew Evan Spensieri, 19, from Palm Desert, was arrested for commercial burglary.

9:58 a.m.:   Officers responded to the 72-000 block of Thrush Road on a domestic violence call. Michael Devenio, 30, from Palm Desert, was arrested for spousal abuse.

2:15 p.m.:  Officers located a stolen vehicle at the intersection of El Centrol and Robert in the unincorporated area of Thousand Palms. The stolen vehicle report was initially taken by officers earlier in the morning. Misty Camargo, 35, from Thousand Palms, was arrested for possession of stolen property and grand theft auto.

8:00 p.m.:  Officers conducted a pedestrian check behind Angel View at San Pablo Avenue and Highway 111. Teresa Hermes, 48, from San Diego, was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine, Prescription narcotics and paraphernalia. 

Friday, September 14 

1:53 p.m.:  Officers responded to a call of a stabbing at an apartment complex within the 74000 block of Alessandro Drive. The victim had fled on foot but was later found hiding in a side yard between buildings. The victim, who was intoxicated and very uncooperative, had a small laceration on his right pinky finger and a cut over his right eye. Paramedics responded but the victim refused medical care. The victim refused to provide any suspect description and desires no prosecution.

9:49 a.m.:   Officers responded to the Walmart regarding a theft. Saul Tovar, 37, from Cathedral City, was arrested for shoplifting.

6:27 p.m.:   Officers responded to Ruth's Chris Steak House regarding a battery. Raymond Harold Griffith, 63, from Huntington Beach, was arrested for misdemeanor assault.

7:19 p.m.:  Officers responded to the 72000 block of Raven Road regarding a disturbance. Carl Rasmussen, 57, from Palm Desert, was arrested for misdemeanor battery and public intoxication.

Thursday, September 13

1:34 p.m.:  Officers responded to Walmart regarding a shoplifter. Sindy Jean Hunter, 33, from Crestline, was arrested for commercial burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4:13 p.m.:   Investigators arrested Manual Valadez, 25, from Cathedral City, for the September 6th armed robbery at the AM/PM store at Portola Avenue and Hwy 111.

4:37 p.m.: The Burglary Suppression Unit responded to the 13000 block of Cuando Way in Desert Hot Springs. Amy Tamaska, 33, from Desert Hot Springs, was arrested on a felony burglary warrant.

8:30 p.m.:  Officers responded to the 44000 block of San Pablo Avenue regarding a domestic dispute. Jami Hatfield, 31, from Palm Desert, was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery.

10:25 p.m.:  Members of Palm Desert SET conducted a vehicle check on a black Volvo occupied by 3 males. Chris Jackson Sr., 52, from Santa Ana, was arrested on 3 outstanding felony warrants related to theft and drug possession. Kevin Terry, 28, from Santa Ana, was arrested for possession of burglary tools.

Wednesday, September 12
