Police Catch up to Suspected Palm Desert Hit-and-Run Driver

The man believed to cause the Saturday night accident was found in La Quinta.

A 25-year-old hit-and-run suspect wanted in connection with a two-vehicle crash in Palm Desert was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said today.

Aaron Travis Dodson was going eastbound on Highway 111 at Deep Canyon Road when his blue 2007 Ford Focus struck a white Honda causing minor damage to that vehicle, according to a department statement.

Dodson drove away from the scene and into the city of La Quinta. Palm Desert police responded to the location of the crash at 8:21 p.m. Saturday, according to the statement.

His car was located by La Quinta police a short time later. Dodson, a La Quinta resident, was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital. He was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence of alcohol.

It was not immediately known whether the driver of the Honda was injured.

Palm Desert police asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (760)
836-1600.
