A Desert Hot Springs man is in jail after leading police through three cities following a failed DUI stop.
Palm Desert Police Sergeant Shaun Myers said the original call was about a suspected drunk driver at Highway 111 and San Luis Rey, at 9:19 a.m.
Police found the vehicle near Highway 111 and Mountain Cove in Indian Wells, where they attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver failed to stop and led police through La Quinta and Bermuda Dunes before finally stopping in the 79600 block of Country Club Drive.
Police arrested Jose Antonia Garcia, 35, for suspicion of DUI, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and felony evasion.
Garcia was booked into the Indio Detention Center, where he remains in custody.
