UPDATE: Sketch Released of Attempted Kidnapping Suspect

Investigators look for a man involved in an attempted kidnapping early Thursday evening in Palm Desert.

Palm Desert police have released a sketch of a man involved in an attempted kidnapping Thursday night.

The incident happened in the area of Fred Waring Drive, just east of Cook Street at about 7:20 p.m. 

According to Sergeant Dave Adams, the female victim as approached by a male driving an older model, grey van.  The man exited the vehicle, approached the victim, offering her a ride.  When she declined, the man grabbed the victim’s right arm.   She was able to break away from the man, and ran away from the area to call police.

The man is described as a white male in his 40s, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall, with a stocky build.

Officers from the Palm Desert Police and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department were unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle. 

The investigation is ongoing and the Palm Desert Police Department is urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the Palm Desert Sheriff Station at (760) 836-1600, or Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-STOP (7867).
