Police Look For Witnesses in Crash That Killed Bermuda Dunes Man

A driver who took off on foot after a fatal collision with a motorcyclist in Palm Springs remained at large Wednesday, police said.

Police also want to locate a man who may have witnessed the Sunday morning crash at East Palm Canyon Drive and El Camino Real.

Eric Strzelczyk, 29, of Bermuda Dunes, died shortly after the 4:30 a.m. collision, which occurred when the driver of a white Ford Ranger turned left from westbound East Palm Canyon Drive onto Camino Real in front of the eastbound motorcyclist, according to police.

Witnesses described the pickup truck driver, who abandoned the truck and ran in a southeasterly direction, as a Latino wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball hat.

Police also hope to talk to William Dominguez Lopez, who may have seen the crash, Sgt. Harvey Reed said. He was described as 20-30 years old and a Cathedral City resident.

Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call police at (760) 323-8105, or make an anonymous tip to Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867.
