Police: Palm Desert Prostitution Ring Busted, 5 Arrested

Five people have been arrested in connection to a prostitution operation allegedly being run out of a Palm Desert business, police announced.

Four women and their "manager" were arrested in an undercover prostitution sting in Palm Desert, a sheriff's corporal said Friday.

The sting was conducted about 7 p.m. Thursday by officers from the Palm Desert Police Department Business District Team, sheriff's Cpl. Angel Ramos said.

Sheriff's officials would not immediately disclose the sort of business where this alleged prostitution ring was taking place, due to the ongoing investigation.

Arrested on suspicion of prostitution were Torri Wilkinson, 31, of Salt Lake City, Utah, 40-year-old Yunhua Lu from San Gabriel and 25-year-old Tricia Rodriguez of Coachella.

Mei Jun Wang, 45, of La Quinta was arrested on suspicion of pandering, Ramos said.

23-year-old Coachella resident Reynaldo Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of managing prostitution, he added.

All the suspects were booked at the county jail in Indio.

"This operation is part of the continued effort of the Palm Desert Police Department Business District Team to maintain a high quality of life within the City of Palm Desert," Ramos said.  "Additional enforcement operations and compliance checks will be conducted in the future."
