Resident Surprised By Burglars in His Home

Deputies are searching for two men they say kicked in the door to a home while a resident was inside.

Deputies are searching for two men they say kicked in the front door of a Palm Desert home as part of attempted burglary.

The incident was reported at 9:25 Wednesday at a home in the 74400 block of Buttonwood Circle, near Deep Canyon Road and Magnesia Falls Drive.

A resident was home alone when he heard his front door kicked in, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies, who provide police services to Palm Desert.

The victim told deputies he saw two men wearing hoodies enter the home. The suspects saw the victim and reportedly fled to a waiting vehicle. No weapons were seen, nothing was taken from the home and no one was injured, officials said.

One suspect appeared to be a white male. The second was a male and may have been a Hispanic. The suspect's vehicle was described as black sedan.
