Palm Desert Police say a man armed with a knife threatened the clerk and demanded money.

Palm Desert Police officials are searching for a robber who struck at a Circle-K store early Nov. 29.

The robbery was reported at 3:26 a.m. at the convenience store on the southwest corner of Country Club Drive and Washington Street in Palm Desert.

Police said a man walked into the store, confronted a female cashier, brandished a knife and demanded money. The man ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, several cartons of cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets, police officials said.

The robber is described as a thin black male, roughly 18 years old, about 5-foot-8, 130 pounds. He wore dark jeans, a red hoodie jacket and a blue baseball style hat.

There were no customers in the store at the time and no one was injured, police officials said.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to call the Riverside County Sheriff's Department - Palm Desert Station at (760) 836-1600 or Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867.
