A second man in less than 10 days has died from injuries suffered when a train struck him in the desert, authorities said.
The man was struck about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, on Country Club Drive, south of Adams Street, according to the Riverside County Coroner's office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:09 p.m., authorities said.
The man's name was not released, pending notification of family.
It was unclear whether the train was freight or an Amtrak.
This marks the second time in less than 10 days that a man was struck and killed in the desert.
Richard Poe, 52, of Palm Springs, on Nov. 17 was struck and killed by a Union Pacific Railroad train in Mecca.
