Sheriff Department Honors Fallen Officers, Deputies

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department will host the annual Blue Light Ceremony in the Coachella Valley and in Riverside. The event honors fallen law-enforcement officials.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department will host the annual Blue Light Ceremony event that to honors those men and women in law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and serve their community.

The county sheriff’s department provides police services to Palm Desert.

There will be two ceremonies this year. The first will be at 6 p.m. at La Quinta’s City Hall, 78-495 Calle Tampico, the second ceremony will be 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Riverside County Administrative Center, 4080 Lemon Street in Riverside.

Buildings will be adorned with symbolic blue lights for the ceremony.

The Blue light Awareness Program was established by the Concerns of Police Survivors organization to enhance the public awareness of law enforcement deaths across the country, sheriff’s officials said.
