A 23-year-old Coachella woman was hospitalized in serious condition Sunday following a crash which she is believed to have caused while alcohol-impaired.
Rebecca Nunez was thrown from her vehicle in the crash, reported about 1:15 a.m. Saturday at Avenue 53 and Van Buren Street, according to Riverside County serff's Sgt. Tony Baur.
The single-vehicle crash did not injured her passenger, the sergeant wrote in a news release.
Investigators determined that Nunez has a suspended driver's license for a prior DUI conviction, Baur wrote.
Sheriff's investigators will turn the case over to the District Attorney's office for prosecution of alleged DUI and driving with a suspended license, the sergeant indicated.
