Three Arrested After Palm Desert Robbery Spree

Palm Desert Police take in three men after a string of robberies at three Palm Desert residences in mid-March.

Palm Desert Police have arrested three men following a string of residential robberies earlier this month.  

Police arrested John Paul Munoz, 38, of Cathedral City;  Juan Reyes, 37, of Desert Hot Springs; and George Blackstone, 32, of Indio. 

In all three robberies, a masked suspect walked up to open garages and approached the victims.  The suspect would then point a handgun at the victim and demand wallets and cell phones.  The suspect would the flee on foot.

Investigators say that during the investigation, several credit cards belonging to one victim were used at multiple businesses throughout the Coachella Valley.  Officer were able to identify three suspects using the stolen credit cards.  

Munoz was arrested following a search at a home in Cathedral City.  He is charged with burglary, conspiracy, credit card fraud, committing a felony while out on bail, and a probation violation.  He remains in jail, with bail set at $95,000.

Reyes was arrested during a traffic stop in Desert Hot Springs.  He is charged with burglary, conspiracy, credit card fraud and a probation violation. Reyes was released after posting bond. 

Blackstone was arrested at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station and charged with burglary, conspiracy, credit card fraud and a probation violation.  He also remains in custody; bail set at $95,000.

All three are expected in court on Wednesday. 

The investigation into the three robberies is continuing and additional suspects are sought.
