A man died of injuries suffered when he was struck by a train in Thermal while walking on the tracks, authorities said Sunday.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was struck about 3:45 p.m. Saturday on Highway 111, near Avenue 66, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Tapp.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Union Pacific Railroad police were also investigating the death, though foul play was not suspected, the sergeant said.
