Twelve People Nabbed at PD Checkpoint for Driving Without a License

No motorists were found to be driving drunk, police said.

Results are in for a weekend DUI checkpoint in Palm Desert, and though no one was found to be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, a dozen motorists were arrested.

A total of 12 motorists were arrested at the Jan. 12 operation, for driving while unlicensed or on a suspended license, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Sergeant Dave Adams.

Ten vehicles were impounded during the overnight DUI/license checkpoint, Adams added.

A total of 804 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Police screened 673 of those vehicles. Twenty-three sobriety tests were conducted, Adams said.

The operation was held on Highway 111, west of Plaza Way, and began at 9 p.m. Saturday and ended Sunday at 3 a.m.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
