Woman hits two trucks, then crashes into Jensen's on Cook Street

A 76-year-old woman suspected of being under the influence of alcohol ran a red light today and struck two pickup trucks before crashing her car into a Palm desert grocery store, a sheriff's sergeant said.

Judith Wasserman of Palm Desert was taken to a local hospital with non-
life-threatening injuries following the 10:40 a.m. crash, sheriff's Sgt. Radek
Horkel said.

Wasserman was northbound on Cook Street when she ran a red light at the
intersection of Green Way and her Chrysler Sebring struck a pickup truck whose
