Woman Arrested On Suspicion Of Bank Robbery
"Bank employees are saying the female handed a demand note to the teller," a sheriff's sergeant said.
A woman was taken into custody today, along with a possible accomplice, on suspicion of robbing a Palm Desert bank, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Bertha Hortencia Rangel of Cathedral City was carrying an undisclosed amount of cash when she was detained by sheriff's deputies as she was leaving in the 73000 block of Highway 111 around 2 p.m., sheriff's Deputy Angel Ramos said. He said the man was detained nearby.
"Bank employees are saying the female handed a demand note to the teller," Ramos said.

No one was injured, and it appeared no weapons were used, he said, adding that deputies arrived shortly after someone activated the alarm.
"At the same time, we received a call from someone inside the bank saying they needed police," Ramos said.
