Bono Mack Receives Motorcycle Industry Award
Local Congresswoman lauded for her efforts to increase jobs in motorcycle/ATV industry.
Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack, R- Palm Springs, was given the Motorcycle Industry Council’s (MIC) Chairman’s Award for “Outstanding Support of Youth Off-Highway Riders”. The award was presented to her Monday in Indio.
“I am very grateful to receive the prestigious Chairman’s Award form the Motorcycle Industry Council,” Bono Mack said. “To be recognized by an organization that shares my passion for making ‘Made in America’ matter again is truly an honor.”
Part of her efforts in Washington reversed a ban on youth ATVs and dirt bikes that was part of the Consumer Product Safety and Improvement Act.

“The bipartisan CPSIA reform bill would not have been possible without the cooperation and support groups such as MIC,” she said in accepting the award. “I am especially grateful for the role they played in this important process.”
