Congressional Candidates to Debate Tonight

Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack and challenger Raul Ruiz to face off in live televised debate.

The candidates for the 36th Congressional District seat, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (R-Palm Springs) and challenger Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella) will meet for a televised debate on the issues tonight in Palm Desert.

The debate, hosted by The Desert Sun and KMIR television will be broadcast by KMIR6, beginning with a pre-debate show at 6:30pm.  The debate itself takes place at 7:00 p.m. and will be aired on KMIR6, its sister station KPSE My13, and via mydesert.com and kmir6.com.

Because of studio size limitations, the public will not be admitted into the studios.

According to KMIR News Director George Severson, the format for the debate will include a panel of three questioners: moderator and KMIR6 anchor Gino Lamont, The Desert Sun political reporter Erica Felci, and KMIR6 anchor Elizabeth Beaubien.

The one-hour live debate is the only debate scheduled between the two 36th Congressional District candidates.

Great... the male candidate who declares he will NEVER change Medicare, no matter what!? Really.... I was of the opinion the Medicare program required some changes to keep it up to date with patient needs and eliminating wasteful spending. Yet, he chooses NEVER! Yeah, that's the guy I want representing me.....
Oh then there is Mary,,,,, really, what has see done in office besides vote the Republican party line and collect her paycheck -in Florida? What a waste of a vote.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.
