Controller Chiang Endorses Orozco for Assembly

State Controller endorses challenger for newly drawn 42nd State Assembly seat.

State Assembly candidate Mark Orozco’s  (D-Beaumont) campaign today announced the endorsement of State Controller John Chiang. After an intense exchange of ideas with Orozco on fiscal issues affecting the State, Chiang decided to endorse Orozco.

Explaining his decision Chiang said: “In my exchange with Mark I noticed his passion, and knowledge on fiscal policies. In our discussion, we concurred on the need to do away with bills, and initiatives, that are designed to be self-defeating, either because they are fundamentally unconstitutional, or extremely diluted on their intent, making them ineffective. This window dressing behavior shown by some legislators, it is what I think is wrong in Sacramento, and by endorsing Mark, I am voting for an alternative leadership based on commitment and honesty.”

“It is an honor to have John Chiang’s support and full confidence,” said Mark Orozco in a press release. “As State Controller, he has been a champion for ethics in government and a watchdog of tax payer dollars. As the next assemblyman I am looking forward in working with our Controller on fiscal transparency and the efficiency in the use of public funds.”

Mark is running to represent the newly-drawn 42nd Assembly District. The 42nd District includes the Riverside County cities of Beaumont, Banning, Cherry Valley, Cabazon, Calimesa, San Jacinto, Hemet, White Water, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, and Rancho Mirage; as well as theSan Bernardino County communities of 29 Palms, Morongo Valley, Yucaipa, Yucca Valley, Landers, Joshua Tree, and Pioneertown.

You';re welcome, Renee but I don't really expect thanks for my contributions to the classroom. IRead More wasn't going to stand by and see kids not have the basic things they needed to get through the class and most teachers are of the same mind :) Sadly, school budgets have never covered all the needs in classrooms.

Dorothy you actually believe criminals can't get guns without a background check. Wow are youRead More naive. Just because YOU don't understand why some people want a particular weapon...does not mean you can impose your ownership standards on someone else. Suppose I suggest you don't need the particular car you drive or the particlar beverage you drink? I see you are opposed to hunting. How do you feel about abortion? Typical liberal double standard at play here??

Totally agree. This is just the beginning of a gun grab. All it will accomplish is furtherRead More restrictions on law abiding citizens. Chicago is a perfect example. Strictest gun control in the nation and highest gun crime and murder rate. Criminals do not comply with the law. Only legal citizens will lose their rights to own the weapon of their choice. Liberals are all about choice when it comes to killing an unborn, but when it comes to a lawful gunowner's choice it's a different story altogether.
