Motorists were encourage to use alternative routes.

Road work on Cook Street between Country Club Drive and Hovely Lane East will start up again on Thursday and continue through December.

Workers will install base paving at the intersection of Cook Street and Country Club Drive on Thursday, according to city spokesman David Hermann.

This work will cause intermittent lane closures on Country Club Drive.

"Once base paving is completed, all lanes (except the southbound right turn pocket on Cook Street) will be open at Cook Street and Country Club Drive until final paving, which is expected to occur in December," Hermann said.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. The $2.5 million project, which will improve traffic flow and drainage, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
