Council Candidate Tanner Loads Campaign Chest

A fundraiser for Van Tanner's City Council run was held in Palm Desert Wednesday evening.

City council hopeful Van Tanner held a fundraising reception in Palm Desert on Wednesday, drawing approximately 70 people to the Cork Tree Restaurant.

"I wont promise things, because we can't make promises," Tanner told the crowd, "but what I will tell you is that is I will work very, very hard to preseve the mountains and to preserve our desert floor."

Tanner went on to explain his commission background; from being invited to join the Parks and Recreation commission in 1994, to joining the Planning Commission in 2004, and moving to the present day where "now i want to continue my efforts -  now i want to vote," Tanner said, referring to being a voting member of City Council.
