County Office on Aging Moved to La Quinta
The office was at the Joslyn Center in Palm Desert for more than 15 years but moved to provide more centrally located services.
The Riverside County Office on Aging has moved its desert-area satellite office from Palm Desert to La Quinta, Supervisor John Benoit said today.
The office at 78-900 Avenue 47, Suite 200, serves seniors and adults with disabilities in eastern Riverside County, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
"The enthusiastic volunteer spirit and abundant energy of our senior residents strengthens many Coachella Valley organizations,'' Benoit said. "I am glad the Office on Aging took this opportunity to find a professional space that will be put to great use.''

The office was at the in Palm Desert for more than 15 years but moved to provide "more efficient and centrally located services,'' Benoit said.
"This new location is convenient for seniors across the Coachella Valley and close to areas where the service need is great,'' said Ed Walsh, director of the Riverside County Office on Aging. "I encourage everyone to make a visit and learn about the programs we offer.''

The office's Retired Senior Volunteer Program, now in its 40th year, has more than 1,100 senior volunteers. Last year, volunteers committed 148,165 hours of service at Eisenhower Medical Center, schools, animal shelters, citizens on patrol and more than 100 other organizations, Benoit said.
The La Quinta office recently joined with the Riverside County Department of Mental Health to offer mental health services in older adults, Walsh said.
