UPDATE: Finerty Latest to Vie For City Council Seats

Incumbent pulls papers this morning, making a field of nine for three Council seats

Palm Desert City Council member Cindy Finerty pulled nomination papers Wednesday morning in an effort to retain her City Council seat in November.  

The addition of Finerty makes nine people that have pulled nomination papers for the three Palm Desert City Council seats up for election in November.  The seats are currently held by Councilmembers Finerty, Bill Kroonen and Bob Spiegel.  All three are running for re-election.

Of the nine, two have already qualified for the ballot by returning all necessary paperwork.  Mayor Pro Tem Bill Kroonen and challenger Van Tanner will be on the ballot, while the seven others have yet compete their packets.

Anyone wishing to enter the City Council race must complete the necessary candidate filing paperwork from the Palm Desert City Clerk's Office by August 10.
