Election 2012: Ruiz Outraises Bono Mack in First Quarter
Federal documents show Dr. Raul Ruiz raised more campaign funds in the last three months than incumbent Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack.
Congressional Challenger Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella) raised more campaign money over the last three months than incumbent congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (R-Palm Springs), according to Federal Election Commission statements released today.
Ruiz, a physician, raised $271,866.96 between January 1 and March 31, 2012; compared to Bono Mack’s $258,387.35.
According to Bono Mack’s forms, over $130,000 of her fundraising came from political committees and PAC money, while similar groups contributed $39,750 to the Ruiz camp.

Despite out-raising Bono Mack this quarter, Ruiz still trails in fundraising to date when compared to the Bono Mack warchest; with the Congresswoman still holding an advantage of over a quarter-million dollars.
Both are based in the current 45th district, which prior to the election will be restructured as California’s 36th district.
