Fed Court Refuses to Rule on Proposition 8 Overturn
A federal appeals courts refuses to hear arguments trying to reverse a lower court overturn on Proposition 8 which banned gay marriage in California.
California's Proposition 8, passed in 2008 defined marriage as "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California". It was later overturned by a State court.
Today's decision by Federal Appeals Court not to hear that case may push Prop 8 supporters to the U.S Supreme Court.
