The third phase of road work on Cook Street at Hovley Lane East is set to get underway later this week, and motorists are encouraged to use other routes.
Crews are set to install traffic signal poles on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 11-12, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to city spokesman David Hermann.
"This is a major undertaking requiring that through traffic be detoured off Cook Street," Hermann said in a news release. "Traffic will also be stopped completely for periods of up to 30 minutes."
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes such as Portola Avenue, Country Club Drive, and Fred Waring Drive, he said.
The $2.5 million project to improve traffic flow and drainage on Cook Street between Hovley and Country Club Drive is expected to be completed in February.
