I-10 Roadwork Cancelled
Pavement work between Banning and Palm Springs has been cancelled and not rescheduled.
Pavement work that had been planned this week for parts of Interstate 10 between Banning and Palm Springs was canceled today, a Caltrans spokeswoman said.
The work would have necessitated the closure of alternating lanes of I-
10 in both directions between Pennsylvania Avenue and Highway 111 nightly until Saturday, Caltrans spokeswoman Michelle Profant said. A future date was not immediately set.
In February, a paving miscue by Caltrans resulted in a huge Sunday
traffic jam on westbound I-10 between Palm Springs and Banning. The agency
apologized and vowed it would not happen again.
