Spiegel Latest to Qualify for Council Vote

Mayor Bob Spiegel joins two others in qualifying for the November ballot

Palm Desert Mayor Bob Spiegel has returned his nomination papers and has qualified for the November elections for Palm Desert City Council. City Clerk Rachelle Klassen informed Patch of the update late Friday afternoon.

Spiegel is the third person to qualify for the ballot, joining challenger Van Tanner and City Councilmember Bill Kroonen.  

Three seats on the City Council, currently held by incumbents Spiegel, Kroonen and Cindy Finerty, will be put before voters in November.

Finerty took out her nomination papers earlier this week.  Five others have also taken out papers in attempt to qualify for the ballot by the August 10th deadline.
