More Than 50 Palm Desert Nonprofits Lose Tax Exempt Status

The IRS released the list this past week.

Dozens of Palm Desert nonprofit groups who failed to file a questionnaire three years in a row with the Internal Revenue Service have lost their tax-exempt status.

A list, which includes the Palm Desert Police Activities League and Friends of the College of the Desert, was posted this week by the IRS.

According to the IRS, donations made after June 9 to the organizations on the list won't be counted as tax-deductible.
