Palm Desert Visitor's Center Calls El Paseo Home

All residents are invited to an open house Jan. 26.

Are you one of those residents who enjoy knowing every detail about the city you live in? Or maybe you just want to find out some information about something relevant only to Palm Desert like what kinds of wildflowers bloom in spring.

The is the place to go. Acting as the city’s concierge, it’s the place to find information on local attractions and businesses as well as brochures, maps and magazines on various features of the city. At any given time the center hands out discount passes to a variety of events and is a great place to start when researching anything you want to learn about the city.

Manager Donna Gomez says that people looking for information on the city’s dining, shopping, events and attractions will oftentimes find perks by looking towards the Visitor’s Center first.

“We have deals with some local businesses,” she describes. “For example, we sell tickets for $10 which is quite a discount from the normal admission price. We are also currently working with other entities like the Palm Springs Air Museum and to do the same.”

After a much lauded move into a custom built building on Highway 111 near , the city decided to lease the building to be used as an annex of the Palm Springs Art Museum. This is highly exciting news for the city as we will now have a stellar museum wing for viewing top notch sculpture, photography and art without having to drive to Palm Springs.

The Visitor Center’s new location is at 73-470 El Paseo, Suite F-7. It will host an open house for the publicWednesday, Jan.  26 from 5 to 7 p.m. More information can be obtained by calling 760-568-1441.
