Ruiz Speaks on Immigration Policy Change

Congressional candidate Raul Ruiz speaks on the President's immigration policy change

Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella) spoke about the President's anouncement via a statement sent to Patch:

“I support the President’s action today.  We as Americans have always believed that you don’t’ punish a child for the acts of the parents.  These are kids who were brought to this country, often as infants, and since then, they’ve played by the rules, they’re graduating from school, and in many cases, they’ve joined the military.  They’ll pay taxes, they’ll create economic activity; they’ll make purchases, and they’ll create jobs.  These are exactly the types of productive young people we want in this country.

"Washington has taken far too long to act, and too many Congresspeople are more interested in scoring political points than solving problems.  Congress should stop playing politics with this issue and recognize that everyone has an interest in immigration reform.  We all want secure borders and a reliable labor pool.  We all want to have a reliable system that allows people who play by the rules to have a chance to immigrate and become productive members of society.”

I totally agree with candidate Ruiz. These people deserve a chance. Mary Bono Mack may disagree but she always does anyway. Ruiz has my vote as does the President.

Candidate Ruiz will lose his bid for U.S. Congress even against such a week, part time Resident of the Coachella Valley such as Congresswoman Mary Bono, because of his attitude displayed in his comments on President Obama circumventing Congress. The Law is the Law. Don't like it? Change it through Constitutionally approved methods. Our founding Fathers anticipated future needs of this Republic and designed it to allow for this. Candidate Ruiz appears to favor methods more in line with let's say, Mexico, which is deteriorating before our eyes, hence the large scale Exodus from that Country. Illegal is Illegal. The next time anyone is negatively impacted by someone not respecting OUR Law's, maybe the offender simply didn't wish to, because they didn't think the Law was right.

Thank you, Dr. Ruiz! I agree with him and with the President's latest attempt to make a positive change in our immigration policies. We need to elect Dr. Ruiz and reject Congresswoman Mack's do-nothing-but-obstruct record on this as well as countless other issues.

You are ignorant Ron Moon...So many Americans are willfully ignorant on the issue of immigration. Let's blame everything on the illegal immigrants. There are taking our jobs, breathing our air, learning in our crappy schools and making them worse… blah blah blah pretty soon we'll all be speaking "Mexican". The reality is, you need to direct your anger at all those corporate assholes who are sending AMERICAN jobs overseas before you yell at Pedro for mowing your neighbors lawn.
