Salton Sea's Future to Be Discussed in Gov't Meeting

A Coachella Valley congressman, a representative from Sen. Barbara Boxer's office and an official from the Department of the Interior will take part in a public meeting Friday about the Salton Sea.

Rep. Raul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, U.S. Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary for Water and Science Anne Castle and Boxer's representative, Joaquin Esquivel, will meet with local leaders and residents at 9 a.m. at the North Shore Beach and Yacht Club.

The public can watch the meeting live on YouTube, Ruiz spokeswoman Whitney Mitchell said.

Topics will include Salton Sea projects and a conservation plan, she said
