Senator Boxer Visits Valley This Weekend
Boxer plans to speak to seniors in Palm Springs on Friday, and at a Palm Desert rally on Saturday.
United States Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Rancho Mirage) will speak at two events as she visits the valley over the next few days.
Senator Boxer will speak about Medicare and Medicaid at Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs tomorrow, her office said today.
Boxer will speak about "the need to protect Medicare and Medicaid to ensure that current and future seniors will get the health care they need,'' according to a statement from her office. She is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. Friday at Mizell, 480 S. Sunrise Way. Boxer will talk about President Obama's "efforts to strengthen the program'' and the House Republican budget plan, according to her office.

On Saturday, Boxer is scheduled to headline during a Democratic-organized "Get Out The Vote" Rally at Civic Center Park in Palm Desert. Congressional candidate Dr. Raul Ruiz (D-Coachella) is also scheduled to speak. Others scheduled to appear are 80th district Assemblyman Manuel Perez (D-Coachella) and 42nd Assembly District candidate Mark Orozco (D-Beaumont).
The Rally begins at 9:00 a.m, with a precinct walk. Speakers take the stage beginning at 12:30 p.m.
