Supervisor Benoit Pushes Trade with UAE

Local Supervisor vacations in Middle East, and lobbies for trade with Riverside County.

Supervisor John Benoit met Thursday with trade representatives at the U.S. Consulate in Dubai to explore potential importing and exporting opportunities between Riverside County and the United Arab Emirates.

“Riverside County is eager to partner with the United Arab Emirates to build government-to-government relations, increase trading opportunities with our local business community and promote foreign direct investment, which creates jobs in our county,” said Supervisor Benoit.

The visit was a follow-up to a meeting Supervisor Benoit and Riverside County Foreign Trade Commissioner Tom Freeman had in March with United Arab Emirates trade representatives at the UAE’s Washington, D.C. Embassy. Riverside County’s agricultural products and pharmaceuticals already are being purchased in the UAE, and the county would like to add more manufactured goods to the list.
