Another Challenger Qualifies for Council Election

Five officially on ballot for three seats - deadline to file is today

Palm Desert resident Terry Wood has returned her nomination papers and has qualified for the November election for Palm Desert City Council.

Wood becomes the fifth person to qualify for the ballot, joining challengers Van Tanner and Aurora Wilson.   Mayor Bob Spiegel and City Councilmember Bill Kroonen have also qualified for the election.  

Three seats on the City Council, currently held by incumbents Spiegel, Kroonen and Cindy Finerty, will be put before voters in November.

Four others have also taken out papers in attempt to qualify for the ballot by today’s deadline.
