Segments of the southbound number two, or slow, lane on Cook Street between Frank Sinatra Drive and Avenue 42 will be closed for about three weeks while communication company workers to install conduit and fiber optic cable underground.
Work was scheduled to begin Wednesday, and continue Monday – Friday. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Additional lane closures are expected when workers reach the intersections of Cook and Hovley Lane East and Cook and Country Club Drive.
City officials encouraged motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as Portola Avenue or Monterey Avenue.
