Weather Warning: Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory

Thunderstorms and heavy showers are hitting the advisory area.

The National Weather Service has issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Central Riverside County, including Palm Desert.

Doppler radar shows showers and thunderstorms capable of producing flooding.

The Weather Service warns that "excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams, and ponding of water in urban areas, on highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots."

The Warning is set to expire at 3:30 p.m.

The complete list of communities included in the warning area are Bermuda Dunes, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Palm Desert country, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Thousand Palms.
