Camaro Up For Grabs In PDCMS Golf Tournament

The fundraiser will benefit Palm Desert Charter Middle School, which boasts 1,300 students.

Coachella Valley residents will have a chance to win a Chevy Camaro in ’s Oktoberfest Golf Tournament and Auction Fundraiser.

The event is set for Oct. 2 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, north of Interstate 10, according to Linda Stoddart, the school’s secretary.

The Camaro is worth $35,000 and was donated by the Jessup Auto Plaza, Stoddart said.

The tournament is looking to fill slots for about 100 golfers, who will have the opportunity to raise as much as $50,000 for the school, thanks to a matching grant from the Berger Foundation.

All proceeds directly benefit the 1,300 Palm Desert Charter Middle School students.

Local businesses can participate by sponsoring a hole, where a message and advertisement will be placed on a designated tee box on the course, according to the Palm Desert Charter Middle School Foundation, which is organizing the event.

The cost is $150 a golfer or $600 for a foursome to play in the tournament, which includes reception pastries and coffee, lunch voucher, access to the driving range, golf cart, a cocktail and awards ceremony and an Oktoberfest dinner.

Sponsorships must be submitted by Sept. 15. Donations are tax deductible: tax ID number 20-4151864.

Anyone who can’t make it to the event, but would like to make a donation, can make checks payable to PDCMS Foundation, 74-200 Rutledge Way, Palm Desert, Ca 92260.
