College of the Desert Annual University Transfer Fair on Wednesday Oct. 16

College of the Desert administrators are planning to host an annual University Transfer Fair on Wednesday Oct. 16.

"Representatives from over 40 colleges and universities are scheduled to have information tables set up in the Hilb Building on the Palm Desert Campus from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.," school official said in an announcement Monday.  "Representatives will be available to answer questions, pass out literature, and inform students about their various programs."

The event is an opportunity for students to gather info, compare notes on programs offered at university campuses in California and out-of-state.

According to College of the Desert officials,  representatives from the following colleges or universities are expected at the Transfer Fair:

Academy of Arts, Alliant International University, American Public University, Art Institute, Azusa Pacific University, Bethune-Cookman University, Brandman University, Cal Poly Pomona, California Baptist University, California Lutheran 
University, Chapman University, California State University Chico, CSU Northridge, CSU Sacramento, CSU San Bernardino – PDC, CSU San Bernardino, CSU San Marcos, Fashion Institute, Grand Canyon University, Humboldt State University, La Sierra University, Loma Linda University, Loma Linda University-Dental Hygiene, National University, National University-Golf Academy, New School of Architecture and Design, San Diego Christian College, So. Calif. University of Health Science, Temple University, Japan Campus, University of California-Berkeley, UC-Davis, UC-Riverside, UC-Santa Barbara, University of La Verne, University of Phoenix, University of Redlands-School of Business, University of San Diego, Vanguard University, and Woodbury University.

College of the Desert is billed as a two-year college that offers students options  for starting college and transferring to a four-year institution. College of the Desert also offers vocational and technical programs, including Nursing and Health Sciences, Digital Design and Production, Turf Grass Management & Ornamental Horticulture, Advanced Transportation Technologies, Culinary Arts, and Administration of Justice courses at the Public Safety Academy training facility.
