The campus, established on the College of the Desert Campus in 1986, has served only upper-division and graduate students.  Students typically did their lower-division classwork at COD, or another community college, before transferring to the CSUSB campus in Palm Desert.

“These cooperative efforts, among others, clearly demonstrate that both institutions desire to work together to serve the Coachella Valley,” said Fred Jandt, Dean of the CSUSB Palm Desert campus.
