An exhibition showcasing the work of the first graduating class from the Palm Desert Campus of Cal State San Bernardino’s graphic design and marking program will be held from May 31-June 15.

The exhibition will be in the campus’s Mary Stuart Rogers Gateway Building lobby.

A reception to honor the students will be held on Wednesday, June 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the same location.  It is open to the public.

“I am very proud of each student and proud to be a part of this program,” said Dennis Johnson, the students’ professor. “This remarkable group of young men and women are truly pioneers in the Coachella Valley.”

The inaugural class is the first to earn a bachelor of arts degree from the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus as graphic design and marketing graduates.   The students have garnered scholarships, earned internships in design and achieved employment prior to graduation.

Each began the journey after high school through local community colleges. At CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus, students completed courses in beginning and advanced graphic design, Web design, Final Cut Pro video editing software and marketing.

The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus is located at 37-500 Cook St., in Palm Desert.
