will offer a bachelor of arts degree in graphic design and marketing this fall.
"This is a great opportunity for students to increase their knowledge and skills in design and marketing,'' said Doris Wilson, associate dean of the CSUSB Palm Desert campus.
The first class that will be offered in the fall is web design, which has no prerequisites. The class will be held in the new Mac computer lab on campus.
Employment of graphic designers is expected to grow 13 percent -- as fast as the average for all occupations from 2008 to 2018 -- as demand for graphic design continues to increase from advertisers and computer design firms, campus spokesman Mike Singer said.
For all other programs, CSUSB Palm Desert is accepting applications for admission for the spring 2012 quarter with a deadline of Aug 31. The spring quarter begins on April 2 (March 31 for Saturday classes).
The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus offers undergraduate degrees in:
- Business Administration
- Career and Technical Studies
- Criminal Justice
- Graphic Design and Marketing
- Liberal Studies
- Nutrition and Food Sciences
Students should submit official documents such as transcripts and test scores as soon as possible to expedite their admission to the university.
All applicants can complete their applications by logging onto www.CSUmentor.edu.
