College Fair at Xavier Prep

in partnership with will host a college information night Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Xavier school gymnasium.

High school students from Xavier and throughout the Coachella Valley are encouraged to take advantage of the free college fair and information sessions.  This college fair will offer an opportunity to speak with representatives from numerous institutions.

Some of the colleges who will be in attendance include: Arizona State University, California Baptist University, Grand Canyon University, Humboldt State University, Santa Clara University, San Diego Christian College, The University of Montana, U. S. Coast Guard Academy, University of Arizona, UCLA, UC, USC, Berkeley, University of San Diego, US Naval Academy, Vanguard University, and Washington State University, to name a few.

During the event there will be break-out information sessions that students and parents will be able to attend. Information sessions will include: Athletics in College, Financial Aid/Scholarships, Private and Out-of-State Schools, Admissions, and UC/CSU updates.

When attending college information sessions, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • When you arrive, locate the schools you are most interested in and investigate them first.
  • Ask questions and take notes.
  • Add your name to the mailing lists (bring adhesive address labels).
  • Ask about options to fund your higher education.
  • When you get home, organize and file your materials so they are easily accessible when it's time to start making decisions.
