Send Silence Packing

College of the Desert student group Active Minds will host "Send Silence Packing," a traveling public education display of 1,100 donated backpacks representing the 1,100 college students lost to suicide each year. Many of the backpacks have been donated in honor of loved ones and include a personal story by family members or friends.

Active Minds encourages everyone to come view the display today, it will surround the International Fountain of Knowledge on the College of the Desert campus.

The group will also be passing out information about mental health, student suicide, and where to go to seek help including Student Health Services.
